{"id":414,"date":"2017-01-11T20:55:10","date_gmt":"2017-01-11T20:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ae71ddc408.nxcli.net\/?page_id=414"},"modified":"2018-06-26T12:14:05","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T12:14:05","slug":"leaf-yard-waste-clean-wood","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fairfaxrecycles.com\/?page_id=414","title":{"rendered":"Leaf, Yard Waste &#038; Clean Wood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Leaf, Yard and Clean Wood Debris Guide<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of July 1, 2016, leaves, yard waste and clean wood cannot be\u00a0disposed of in your household\u00a0trash.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Leaf and Yard Waste?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leaf and Yard waste\u00a0include grass clippings, leaves, plants, kraft paper bags and brush that is less than an inch in thickness.\u00a0 It does not include materials such as food residuals or soiled paper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Clean Wood Waste?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trees (including Christmas Trees), clean dimensional lumber (no paint, stains, nails, staples),\u00a0natural woody debris, stumps, logs, root mats and brush greater than one inch in thickness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How and Where Should These Materials Be Managed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are multiple acceptable ways to handle leaf and yard debris and clean wood debris.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MANAGE AT HOME:<\/strong> Consider using these materials at home, as in small construction projects, farming, gardening, composting, or home heating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DROP-OFF AT TRANSFER STATION:<\/strong> Transfer stations that accept municipal solid waste must also accept leaf and yard debris. All transfer stations and drop-off areas were required to collect leaf and yard debris as of <strong>July 1, 2015\u00a0from April 1st through December 15th<\/strong>.
